Neighborhood Improvement

Home Improvement Program

The Home Improvement Program is a program administered by St. Louis County. Funding for the Home Improvement Program is currently provided through the City of Berkeley's annual allocation of Community Development Block Grant funds.

Through St. Louis County, the Home Improvement Program provides 5-year forgivable home improvement loans to low- and moderate-income homeowners to make necessary improvements to their homes. These loans are limited to a maximum of $5,000. Residents interested in the program should contact one of the St. Louis County Home Improvement Program satellite offices to make an application:

Interested in Making a Difference?

Historically, the Berkeley Businessman's Association was comprised of local business owners interested in improving the community through support and promotion of Berkeley businesses and other organizations. In recent years the Association has been inactive.

The City is currently discussing the potential to revive the spirit of the Businessman's Association through creation of a new association to promote and speak for local business interest. Should you be interested in helping to shape the future business environment of Berkeley contact the Department of Community Development.
