The City of Berkeley is accepting applications for the position of IT Help Desk Technician in the City’s Administration Department

 

Areas include assisting and training staff; computer systems, installing hardware and software, and connecting printers and other peripherals; responding to Help Desk queries and logging tickets; inventorying computer hardware and accessories; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and forwarding appropriate incidents to the IT Manager.

 

EXPERIENCE:  Two of the five years of experience in a lead or technical supervisory capacity. Project management experience

 

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Graduation from a college or university with an Associate’s Degree in Computer Technology required.  Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is preferred.

Four (4) years’ experience in troubleshooting computer hardware and software, component isolation and replacement, and system installation, preferred.

Desires someone with Project management experience and possess Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), and Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certificates highly desirable. Must maintain certifications renewals at all times.
